PURPOSE
The Australian Nano Business Forum is the peak national body representing and promoting Australian industries and companies involved in nanotechnology. The ANBF provides a collective voice for member organisations engaged in this emerging technology, as well as facilitating links between other key stakeholders such as government,funding, regulatory and research entities.
The mission of the ANBF is to facilitate the uptake of nanotechnology by industry for the benefit of all Australians.
Key activities include:
- Providing information to members on nanotechnology developments and issues effecting the industry - regulatory, political
- Providing a forum for interaction between nanotechnology companies, their suppliers and collaborators
- Providing a collective view of industry needs to political and regulatory decision-makers, and a focal point for international and export representation
- Strategic consulting exercises
- Enabling regular meetings of business interests and mechanisms for collection and distribution of information
BACKGROUND
The Australian Nano Business Forum was formed by a group of managers and CEOs following the 2nd Australian Nanotechnology Conference, held in
Melbourne
late September 2005. The participants agreed such an organisation, loosely modeled on the Nanobusiness Alliance in the
USA
, was necessary to further develop Australian nanotechnology industry.
The participants nominated a Chairman , Secretary and Board members and gave broad objectives to that team. The Australian Nano Business Forum Limited was formally registered in the ACT on 27 October 2005 - ACN 116 890 272. |
