Brian Power - Director, Realtek Technologies Pty Ltd
Brian began his career in the toolmaking industry, before studying Production Engineering at Swinburne University, majoring in Metrology (precision measurement). During this time Brian began his first enterprise distributing tooling and measuring equipment. He was also involved in bringing the coating ceramic process (de-gunning) into Australia. In 1985 Brian was approached by a Japanese trading company to distribute a range of machine tools, including brand names Star and Miyano. This was the beginning of Realtek, one of the first companies in Australia to supply full turnkey projects on some of the most sophisticated equipment in the southern hemisphere. Brian is chairman of the newly formed Australian Nano Business Forum (ANBF) an organisation which aims to develop the next generation of manufacturing. He is also a member of TEC, an organisation focused on the up-skilling and education of CEOs and executives and he undertakes continual training at some of the research facilities of leading manufacturing developers in Japan and Europe.
